Singer Adnan Sami lauds AI’s use in music, marvels at digitally reimagined duet
In an engaging discussion about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern music, popular singer Adnan Sami expresses his support and sheds light on how AI could be a boon for musical creativity and innovation.
Adnan Sami, a well-known artist acclaimed for chart-topping tracks such as ‘Bhar Do Jholi’, ‘Tera Chehra Jab Nazar Aye’, ‘Lift Karadey’, and others, enthusiastically addresses the continuing debate on AI’s application in music. He believes it’s a subject that warrants further exploration, acknowledging the potential benefits alongside the risks.
“It’s a vast subject, but the fact remains that every new element of technology has its advantages and drawbacks. That said, it is up to us how we use it. We ought to adopt a positive approach in exploiting it constructively,” the singer explained.
Sami recently posted a video of two young musicians recreating one of his romantic hits ‘Tera Chehra’ with the AI-generated voice of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar. Overjoyed with the result, Sami wrote, “This is just so beautiful!!…You both made it possible through AI! Kudos!”

Notably, the soundtrack for Rajinikanth’s film ‘Lal Salaam’ composed by AR Rahman featured AI-rendered voices of late singers Bamba Bakya and Shahul Hameed. The move was applauded by many, while some raised questions about lost opportunities for aspiring talents.
Sami, a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri, gained Indian citizenship in 2016. He first made his spot in Indian music industry via a record with renowned Asha Bhosle.
“I’m grateful to the Government and the people. Without them, nothing is possible. This award is a tribute to my parents. It’s not just an honor but also a responsibility, which I’ll strive to fulfill,” Sami said regarding his recognition.
